My name is Justin Morrow and I was the High Kappa for 2006. We had quite a year at the Alpha-Phi Zeta, we had an outstanding Spring class that included the 250,000 initiate of Lambda Chi Alpha. It was going to be hard to top that for the fall but we had a great class of men who really stood up to the challenge. We had one of the most touted Associate Member classes to ever come through the Alpha-Phi Zeta, we had the most members of any fraternity on Freshman Forum, we had two of which who became influential leaders, and solidified their place in campus politics for their four years at the capstone. Each Associate Member was in an SGA campus organization. These men have already found their place in working for the Alpha-Phi Zeta, we have freshman who were elected as officers and are giving their time to make this chapter the best on campus. These men show the essence of what it means to be a Lambda Chi. We are looking forward to another great year at the Alpha-Phi Zeta, and hope to see all of you soon!

Alpha Phi's Tailgating on the Quad!!!

Dear Brothers,
Another football season is fast approaching, and we wanted to make you aware of some exciting things happening on campus and with the Alpha Phi Zeta on game day. With the additional seating and traffic for game days, the Bruno Events team is now running the parking and other game day procedures. They have suggestions for traffic flow and other issues at www.uagameday.com which we recommend everyone to check out.
We are also excited to announce we will be having a fraternity tailgating area on the Quad across from the Bidgood/Carmichael area this year. We are encouraging all LXA alums to set up their tents near by. The House Corp has purchased two tents which are dark green and have the fraternity name with the Cross & Crescent on them for easy identification in what is otherwise a sea of crimson and white. For the first game, a number of us will meet at the fraternity house at 2 pm on Friday, and go to set up the new tents along with any individual alumni or parents tents in the same area. We can set up the tents beginning at 3 pm on Friday.
Starting about three hours prior to kick-off for every home game except Homecoming, there will be cups, ice, soft drinks, finger foods, etc., available at this location. I encourage you to forward this to any other LXA alum who attends home games so they can join in the pre-game festivities and invite their family/friends along for the game to join them. The Quad has become the center of activity prior to football games and this will be a good, central location for everyone to meet.
